    I was stationed in thule from late Jan 1956 until 15 Jan 1957. The base
    newspaper was the Sentinel. There was a radio staion, I don't remember the call
    sign, but the tv's logo was an eskimo behind an eight ball. We did have good
    recieption. I did hear a radio ststion from Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, XERF.

    I have copies around here somewhere of the Thule Times, 1958-59, from the first
    issue after the name was changed from the North Star. Our OIC Captain Hinds
    changed the name to the Thule Times. I was the editor. We also had a tv station
    on the mountain and two radio stations KOLD and KBIC (for classical music).

    It would be nice if you could find some of the old newspapers from Thule for
    1958-59. I was stationed there at that time as a Ground Radio Operator.....

    Hi Ron

    What do you mean by 'what about BMEWS all y'll got is air force?'

    Does BMEWS have their own newspaper?

    If a different "Ron" may reply;

    BMEWS J-Site did, indeed, have a "newspaper" of sorts. Or they did when
    I was there the first time in 1966-67. It was called "The Daily Wash".
    I still have a copy of it. It was written, edited and printed in Bldg 2 on
    J-Site by one of the RCA troops. Only a couple pages, legal size. Contained
    news pulled from the wire services plus local tidbits of interest to J-Site
    people, and the Base theater and club info.
